I don’t believe in the word diet…
I think the word and mindset of diet leads to failure. The definition of diet is “a special course of food to which one restricts oneself, either to lose weight or for medical reasons.” Unless you are being medically affected by those foods, I don’t believe in that word.
I don’t know about you, but if I am not allowed to have something, I want it more. The most common conception of losing weight and getting “healthy” is to eat absolutely nothing but whole foods, no junk foods because they are “bad…”
If you want honesty, I think that restricting yourself from the foods and things you enjoy is unhealthy. Everything in moderation is okay. There is healthier ways to recreate your favorite meals at home without added sugars, fats, oils to your food. Is it okay to eat out once in a while? ABSOLUTELY. If you start saying no to your friends or family too often to meals out, eating ONLY healthy can turn into another kind of eating disorder. Life is short. Be disciplined enough to make better choices, but don’t let it consume you and make you feel bad for eating certain foods in moderation. We are only human.
